A New Page for Worldwide Fyshwick
Worldwide Online Printing in Fyshwick has taken out Canberra's most prestigious creative industry award – the Print and Graphic Excellence (PAGE) Award.
Just in its second year of operation, Worldwide Fyshwick received the award for Excellence in the production of digitally printed material (under $5,000) for the production of a corporate invitation. The winning entry was designed by emerging local design company Designstone for the opening of their new premises.
“We're absolutely thrilled. We didn't produce the job with the intention of nominating it for an award; and we weren't aware
that Designstone had nominated it on our behalf,†said Centre Owner Mark Walker.
“It just goes to show that we produce every job to the same
high standard, and we're very pleased that the quality of our
work has been formally recognised with an award.â€
The awards, in their 16th year, celebrate excellence in print and design in 14 different categories. As the Worldwide entry competed in the product category, the biggest emphasis was on the final output quality, compliance with high technical elements and effective design. This includes print and paper quality, customer focus and evidence of innovative production.
“We have a great relationship with designers and design agencies in Canberra, and always try and achieve our best. We're very fortunate that the Xerox DC5000 press is an extremely capable machine and we always have full support of the staff at the FXA Canberra office,†added Mark.
In addition to its outstanding design and colour reproduction, the invitation was printed on 100% plantation-grown paper, making it more environmentally-friendly than conventional paper.
“Designstone's brief was to print the job on recycled paper, or paper sourced from a sustainable resource,†explained Mark.
“Environmentally-friendly paper isn't what it used to be 10 years ago, so we're able to produce consistent high-quality materials with less impact on the environment.â€
Earlier this year, the Worldwide group also launched a range of Worldwide ‘green' paper, made from 100% recycled post-consumer waste.
As well as rewarding print and graphics excellence, the PAGE awards seek to celebrate the collaboration between traditional print media and digital media.
