Kerning:

The adjustment of spacing between certain letter pairs, A & V for example, to obtain a more pleasing appearance. Not all DTP systems can achieve this.

Keylines:

Lines framing a photograph or illustration in the printed job. Also called a mechanical. This is the guide used in making plates or engraving cylinders, and printing a piece -a diagram of copy and art for reproduction.

Kilobyte:

1,024 bytes of digital data.

Kiss Die Cut:

To cut the top layer of a pressure sensitive sheet and not the backing.

Knock Out:

To mask out an image.
