NCR: |
Refers to No Carbon Required, i.e. papers that are impregnated with capsules of chemicals during manufacture that burst when printed or written on, therefore creating the copy image. These papers are cleaner to use on multi part forms than One Time Carbon usually different colours NCR sheets are used to aid filing. OTC refers to One Time Carbon as put between the sheets of a multi part form to allow imaging between the parts. The OTC has to be discarded after use. |

Negative (Negs): |
A photographic image on which the lights and shadows are reversed, used to make positive prints. Can be either black and white or colour. A film negative version of an image area, obtained either by shooting the mechanical page with a process camera, or by running out film through an imagesetting system. |

Network: |
In general, a group of computers set up to communicate with each other. Your network can be a small system that's physically connected by cables, or you can connect separate networks together to form larger networks. |

Node: |
Any device that's directly connected to a network. This usually includes computers, printers and file servers. |

Non-Impact: |
Printer technologies which do not strike the page. Advantages include the speed, quality and near silent operation. Main disadvantage is that they cannot print onto multi-part stationery. |

Non-Reproducing Blue: |
A blue colour the camera cannot see. Used in marking up artwork. |
