Worldwide’s print sponsorship helps raise funds for charity

For the third consecutive year, Worldwide Online Printing is a major sponsor of the Brisbane-based Zig Zag Foundation Charity Ball.

Get out the glitter and the masks and get ready to experience carnival!

One of Brisbane’s largest charity events, the 2009 Zig Zag Foundation Charity Ball is on again this year. Featuring the theme “Are you ready... to experience carnival?”, the charity ball will be held at the Brisbane Convention Centre on 20 June.

Last year’s ball raised over $300,000 for Queensland charities that provide essential care for sick, underprivileged and at-risk children.

The Zig Zag Foundation aims to raise $1 million every year through charity events that have now become popular in the local community. It operates with virtually no administration costs and relies on volunteers and the generosity of sponsors such as Worldwide Online Printing to raise funds. Almost 100% of funds raised by the foundation go to the children in need.

Worldwide has supported the Zig Zag Ball since its inception in 2007. This year 15 local Worldwide Online Printing centres have united to provide $16,500 worth of print sponsorship for the ball, and the foundation’s other charity events and everyday printing needs.

“We’re proud to be part of such a worthy cause,” said Andrew Robertson, coordinator of Worldwide’s sponsorship.

“The Zig Zag Foundation does a tremendous job of helping children by spreading the funds across a wide range of charities – from support networks, to research institutes that provide hope for sick children.”

“Each year’s ball is more successful than the last, and we’re sure that this year it will once again be a huge success,” added Robertson.

Close to 1000 people indulged in a night of exotic delight at last year’s oriental ball, including local celebrities the Queensland Reds, Queensland Bulls, cricketer Andy Bichel and TV personality Jim Wilson.

As last year, the ball will feature a raffle, live auction and silent auction. This year’s prizes include a Batman movie poster signed by Heath Ledger and a commemorative crystal trophy for soccer legend George Best.

“The Brisbane business community is very generous and we greatly appreciate their continuous support,” said Zig Zag Foundation founder Michelle Lawson.

“Sponsors like Worldwide Online Printing do a fantastic job and make it possible for us to put on a range of charity events throughout the year.”
